Fall is officially here and October is around the corner. Some of Kansas City’s best events occur during this crisp season and many start this weekend. There’s only so many hours in the weekend and with so much to choose from, it may be hard to decide what to pick!
Get scared with The Beast and The Edge of Hell
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays starting the 24th through November 7th. Combo tickets available but individual tickets are $37. Located in the West Bottoms.
Howl-o-Fest at Worlds of Fun
Daytime is scare-free fun for kiddos but arrive in the evening and prepare yourself for something very sinister…Friday 6-12, Saturdays 11-1am and Sundays 11-7. Check out the website for pricing.
Louisburg Cider Fest
Starting with a pancake breakfast, this fun-filled event includes pony rides, cider making, craft booths, corn maze and pumpkin patch, live music and I can’t forget everyone’s favorite, cider donuts fresh & hot. Admission and parking are free, but the maze & pumpkin patch are $8 (children 3 and under are free).
Liberty Fall Festival
Nestled in Liberty’s historic square, the 39th annual Liberty Fall Festival offers a carnival, parade, arts & craft booths, live music and so much more. Friday 11- 9, Saturday 9 -9 and Sunday noon – 4. FREE!
Kansas City celebrates its roots with the 66th annual pro rodeo. Come out and experience barrel racing, bareback riding, bull riding and so much more. Consult website for more information.
Wild West Days
Step back in time at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm in Olathe. A small admission of $5 will get you all the live entertainment, a stagecoach ride, a chuckwagon cook off (Saturday only), visiting encampments, Alpacas, tour of the Mahaffie house and demonstrations of 19th century activities such as cooking and games. Other activities include panning for gold, leather stamping, shooting galleries and tomahawk throwing for a small extra fee.
A Kansas City tradition since 1977, the Renaissance Festival offers a glimpse into the life of a jousting knights, kings, queens and bawdy people eating large turkey legs. Tons of activities such as jousting contests, grape stomping, various food eating contests, beard contests and so much more! Open weekends until October 18th 10-7.
84th Annual Plaza Art Fair
Be one of the 240,000 people that flock to this beloved event to experience over 240 artists, three stages of live music and over 23 restaurant booths. Friday 5-10, Saturday 10-10 and Sunday 11-5. Free admission.
